Publicis Acquires French Mobile Marketing Firm Phonevalley

Publicis is on the move again.

The French advertising holding company has acquired Phonevalley, a Paris-based mobile marketing firm, according to Forbes.

The company, which has a presence in five European countries, where it develops SMS, MMS and banner mobile advertising campaigns, will become the mobile marketing arm of Publicis Group.

The move, of course, comes after U.S.-based Publicis and Hal Riney launched its own mobile marketing practice, and have worked aggressively on bringing mobile 2D barcodes to market.

A sign that mobile marketing is taking on ever greater importance to marketers the world over.
